Getting Started
FabricGate is a registry for FPGA designs. Install the CLI, find a design, and pull it for your board.
One name, any board
namespace/design:version → resolve → board/runtime
You name a design as namespace/design:version and give your board and runtime as --platform. The CLI picks the build for your board. If there is no build for that exact board, it falls back to the shared generic build for the device family: zcu104/pynq resolves to generic-xczu7ev/pynq.
Step 1 · Install the CLI
pip install fabricgateInstalls the fabricgate CLI (also available as fgate) and the Python SDK. Requires Python 3.11 or later.
Using uv? Install it as a tool instead:
uv tool install fabricgateQuick try without installing
With uv, uvx runs the CLI without installing it. Try a search:
uvx fabricgate search pynqStep 2 · Find a design
Search the catalog and open a design that supports your board. The design and version pages show the pull command to copy.
Browse designsStep 3 · Pull it
Copy the command from the design page, or write it in this form:
fabricgate pull <namespace>/<design>:<version> --platform <board>/<runtime>
--platform is your board and runtime, such as zcu104/pynq. The CLI prints the directory it saved the files to.
